Overview
- Laura Flores, 31, a former Bright Beginnings Learning Center employee, was arrested Feb. 13 on three counts of child abuse.
- Deputies released nearly 20 minutes of classroom surveillance that appears to show children being slapped, grabbed by an arm, dropped onto a mat, struck on the head or stomach, and restrained with a foot.
- The case began after a 13-month-old returned home with cheek bruises and abrasions, leading investigators to identify two additional infant victims on video.
- Flores bonded out of jail, declined to comment to reporters after her release, and is scheduled to appear in court next month.
- Bright Beginnings says it immediately alerted authorities, granted full access to its surveillance and records, and confirmed the employee no longer works at the center.
