Mardi Gras Takes Over Disney’s Port Orleans With Parades, Crafts and Nighttime Party

Cast-built golf-cart floats embraced a Heroes vs. Villains concept to infuse the resorts with New Orleans flair.

Overview

  • Riverside’s procession stepped off at 10:30 a.m. near Building 80, followed by French Quarter’s at 11:30 a.m. near Building 7.
  • Walt Disney World Ambassadors Kylee Withers and Phelicia Blake led the parade as Princess Tiana greeted guests from a white carriage.
  • Cast Members designed and drove the themed carts, which featured scenes and characters from Peter Pan, Alice in Wonderland, Aladdin, Hercules, Hades, Jafar and more.
  • Guest activities run through the day with courtyard crafts from 12:30–4:00 p.m., costume contests at 2:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m., and a Mardi Gras party from 6:00–10:00 p.m.
  • Entertainment and extras include a live jazz band at Scat Cat’s Club — Lounge from 7:30–11:30 p.m. plus limited-time snacks and exclusive merchandise such as King cakes and themed accessories.
