Marathon Patch 1.0.0.4 Eases PvE and Tones Down Thermal Scopes in First Post‑Launch Update

Bungie says the update targets resource pressure for solos and crews to preserve the game's intended tension.

Overview

  • Bungie released version 1.0.0.4 on March 11 (PS5 client 1.007), the game’s first client patch since launch.
  • Most UESC enemies and boss shields had health reduced slightly, while Perimeter now spawns more Med Cabinets and Munitions Crates and sponsored MIDA, CyberAcme, and Arachne kits start with more ammo.
  • Thermal scopes were curtailed with reduced target clarity and shorter highlight ranges: Pistols 40m, Rifles/LMGs/SMGs 60m, Precision Rifles 80m, Snipers 100m.
  • Quality‑of‑life fixes include greater audible range for gunfire and explosions, contract nav points appearing at 20m instead of 10m, and stability fixes addressing server/client crashes, IME issues, and load black screens.
  • Rook received map and reputation fixes and now spawns a Compromised WSTR shotgun that requires a Matter Fixative to exfil, Broken Wing access on Outpost was temporarily disabled for tuning, and Bungie increased a LUX bundle to 1,120 with additional Rewards Pass items planned for mid‑April.
