Marathon Launches Globally March 5 at 1 p.m. EST on PC and Consoles

Bungie details a free three‑month season plan built around mandatory wipes with content rolling out during Season 1.

Overview

  • Servers unlock simultaneously worldwide on Thursday, March 5 at 1 p.m. EST across Steam, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Marathon is priced at $40 at launch.
  • Seasons run about three months with new gear, maps, events and Runner shells available to access or earn for free.
  • Mandatory seasonal wipes reset equipped gear, vaults, contract and faction progression and player levels, while cosmetics, achievements and Codex entries persist.
  • Season 1, "Death Is the First Step," will add the Cryo Archive zone and later introduce a ranked mode during the season rather than on day one, with preloading now available for preorders at roughly 22–25 GB.
