Overview
- FIFA released the full match schedule on Thursday, Aug. 20, 2026, confirming the tournament runs June 24–July 25, 2027, with 32 teams playing 64 matches across eight Brazilian host cities.
- Host Brazil is placed in Group A and will play its group games at Maracanã (June 24), Neo Química Arena in São Paulo (June 29) and Mané Garrincha in Brasília (July 4), mapping the team's early tournament route.
- São Paulo’s Neo Química Arena will stage the most matches of any venue with ten games, including a semifinal and the third‑place match, while Maracanã will host nine matches plus a semifinal in addition to the opener and final.
- Qualification remains active: 18 teams have already qualified and the remaining places will be decided through confederation qualifying, UEFA playoff phases in late 2026 and intercontinental playoff rounds before the December draw.
- Each host city will stage at least seven matches and at least one knockout game, a design FIFA says balances travel and recovery and aims to spread marquee matches beyond Rio and São Paulo.
