- Mantle confirmed on July 9 that it is migrating its Super Portal, co‑developed with Bybit, from LayerZero’s Omnichain Fungible Token standard to Chainlink’s Cross‑Chain Token standard during a planned July 9–15 transition.
- The Super Portal will be suspended temporarily for the migration and Mantle says no user action is required while existing MNT activity on Ethereum, Solana, Byreal and Bybit will remain unaffected.
- Mantle’s move adds roughly $2.5 billion in value locked to a running total of more than $7.2 billion in assets that projects have shifted from LayerZero to Chainlink CCIP since May.
- Projects cite the change because Chainlink pairs cross‑chain messaging with its decentralized oracle network, which they say provides stronger security, institutional controls and direct management of token pools and transfer settings.
- The shift responds to growing concern over bridge risk after a $292 million exploit earlier this year and could speed institutional tokenization and network expansion if migrations reduce the frequency of cross‑chain breaches.
