Overview
- The 28-year-old victim, identified as Jaivendra Singh (also called Vikki), was attacked with an axe at about 11 pm Tuesday at Chandel Petrol Pump on the Kanpur–Sagar Highway and suffered both hands severed plus serious head and leg wounds.
- Bystanders and the victim's mother gave first aid and a Dial 112 police team took him to the district hospital, where doctors referred him to a higher medical centre in Jhansi because his condition was critical.
- Mahoba police say they have detained at least one accused who is known to the victim and are scanning CCTV and questioning witnesses as the probe continues.
