Overview
- At a Chandigarh briefing, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann said all AAP pre‑poll guarantees were met within four years, citing 300 units of free household power, daytime supply for farmers, 881 Aam Aadmi Clinics, and cashless treatment up to ₹10 lakh under Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojna.
- Mann reported major policing drives against organised crime, saying 44,424 raids led to 14,722 arrests including 711 proclaimed offenders, and he accused the Union government of giving Lawrence Bishnoi “VIP” treatment in Sabarmati jail with an order limiting interrogation to that facility.
- He said Punjab has secured hosting rights for the Asia Cup Hockey with matches planned in Mohali and Jalandhar’s Burlton Park, adding that final scheduling is expected by March 21–22 and that stadium upgrades and a proposed international cricket venue in Amritsar are in the works.
- The chief minister alleged the Centre has stalled Punjab’s funds, including about ₹8,000 crore from the rural development fund, and said the state has taken the issue to the Supreme Court.
- BJP and Congress leaders rebutted the government’s record, alleging mounting debt, persistent gangsterism and a worsening drug problem, and questioned the execution and outcomes of the announced schemes.
