Overview
- NSW Police launched a manhunt after a traffic stop escalated into a chase in South Wentworthville on Friday.
- Officers say the Nissan ute fled through Merrylands and Guildford, was involved in a minor crash on Hawksview Street, then stopped near Guildford and Robertson roads where the driver ran and fired three to four shots into the air.
- Specialist units including the Public Order and Riot Squad, the Dog Squad and the PolAir helicopter searched the area but did not find him.
- No injuries were reported and police seized the ute for forensic checks with a crime scene now in place.
- The suspect is described as a man in a bright orange shirt and police ask anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
