- Police arrived within about three minutes and arrested a 33-year-old man as he attempted to flee on a moped; he remains in custody on suspicion of aggravated burglary.
- Multiple suspects escaped on mopeds with what police believe was high-value jewellery, and officers were threatened with a hammer but were not injured.
- Detectives are appealing for information, including CCTV or dashcam footage, quoting reference 732/29JAN26; tips can be provided via 101, online, or anonymously through Crimestoppers at 0800 555 111.
- A police cordon and debris were visible hours after the break-in, and local reports note similarities to a 2019 raid on the same shop, a connection not formally confirmed by police.
