Manhunt in Melbourne After Car Rams House and Two People Are Stabbed

Police treating the attacks as targeted have launched a multi‑suburb search and are urging the public not to approach the suspect.

Overview

  • The attacks struck two known acquaintances of the suspect on Sunday morning, with a man stabbed at a Bradman Terrace home in Epping at about 7:30am and, hours later, a silver Honda CRV deliberately driven into an Exner Street house in Dandenong North at about 10:15am.
  • Both victims suffered non-life-threatening injuries; paramedics treated the woman at the Dandenong North scene before she was taken to hospital and the Epping victim was also hospitalised.
  • Victoria Police say they believe the incidents were targeted because the suspect was known to both victims, and detectives have opened a major investigation linking the two attacks.
  • Officers describe the suspect as being African in appearance, last seen wearing a brown shirt and black pants, and have warned people not to approach him while asking anyone with sightings or footage to call Triple Zero or report anonymously to Crime Stoppers.
  • The mobile nature of the attacks has prompted a wide search of multiple suburbs, increased patrols and a review of CCTV and dashcam footage as police work to locate the offender and recover evidence.
