Manhunt in Goleta for Felony Suspect Who Hit Deputy's Vehicle

Authorities have expanded the search with air support.

Deputies began a search in Goleta after Tuesday's 6 p.m. incident near South Patterson Avenue and Overpass Road.
Investigators say a 40-year-old Santa Barbara man struck a deputy's vehicle with his car and then ran off.
K‑9 teams, county air support, the California Highway Patrol, and UC Santa Barbara police joined the hunt.
Deputies described the man as about six feet tall with black hair and a scruffy beard, and said he shed clothing while fleeing.
As of 8:15 p.m., the suspect remained at large, and officials urged people to avoid the area and call 911 with sightings.
