Manhunt for Off-Duty Kenbridge Officer in Lunenburg Shooting Reaches North Carolina

Authorities have issued felony warrants, describing the off-duty officer as armed and dangerous.

  • Investigators say Charles A. Stokes, 44, fired multiple rounds into a car during a domestic incident before fleeing; the victim was airlifted and her condition has not been released.
  • The black Toyota Camry linked to Stokes was recovered in Henderson, North Carolina, and he is now believed to be driving a stolen 2007 silver Honda Civic with Virginia plate TGL 9143.
  • Stokes is an off-duty member of the Kenbridge Police Department and should be considered armed and dangerous, standing 6 feet 3 inches and weighing 230 pounds with green eyes and brown hair.
