Overview
- Manhattan Theatre Club announced the Broadway mounting Monday, with previews beginning Sept. 8 and an official opening set for Sept. 28 at the Samuel J. Friedman Theatre.
- The principal cast is led by Jasmine Amy Rogers as Ericka, Denée Benton as Paulina and Patina Miller as Eloise Amponsah, with Erin Morton, Lucia Aremu, Nia Otchere-Sarfo, Jordan Rice and Heather Alicia Simms rounding out the company.
- Whitney White will direct and the creative team includes Qween Jean (costumes), Teresa L. Williams (scenic), Stacey Derosier (lighting), Cody Spencer (sound) and Nikiya Mathis (wig, hair and makeup).
- MTC announced a special benefit performance for Oct. 20 to raise money for its 2026–27 season and ticket-access programs that provide free and deeply discounted seats to New Yorkers.
- The Broadway transfer builds on the play’s wide footprint since its 2017 Off-Broadway premiere—more than 75 regional productions and a 2023 London run—and gives Bioh’s coming-of-age drama about beauty standards and social status a larger commercial platform.
