Overview
- United wore the (RED) logo on the front of their adidas kit against Brentford on Monday at Old Trafford as part of a planned charity activation.
- Match-worn, issued and signed shirts from the starters and substitutes are being auctioned on MatchWornShirt from April 27 to May 2.
- The club says all net profits from the shirts go to (RED)’s Global Fund, which fights AIDS and other health threats, with additional matching from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
- Snapdragon, Manchester United’s usual front-of-shirt sponsor owned by Qualcomm, agreed to give up the space for this fixture under a partnership now in its second season.
- (RED), co-founded by Bono, partners with brands to raise money for global health, and football rules allow one-off charity logos, a model United also used last season to turn limited shirts into high-demand collectibles that speed fan-led donations.
