- Manchester United disclosed on Monday that it has bought a 25‑acre triangular plot between Wharfside Way, Europa Way and John Gilbert Way about 350m from Old Trafford, which the club says represents the majority of land needed for a new 100,000-seat stadium.
- The deal with Indurent, a Blackstone portfolio company, means the club no longer needs to rely on adjacent Freightliner land that had stalled talks, and United says design work with Foster + Partners can now resume.
- The club says the stadium will be privately financed and expects construction to take about five years once planning, remaining land purchases and funding are finalised.
