Manchester Police Detail Outcomes After Britain First March: 11 Arrests, One Charge

  • Police said on Monday that one man was charged with breaching a dispersal notice, several suspects were released on conditional bail, one was de-arrested and issued a summons, and one was released with no further action.
  • A 10-hour section 34 dispersal order was in force across the city centre during the events, supported by mounted and dog units and more than 50 additional officers.
  • Clashes were reported in Piccadilly Gardens and on Bloom Street as Britain First supporters and counter-demonstrators confronted each other, and the march set off after a delay at about 1:20 p.m.
  • Officers are investigating social media videos that appear to show assaults and have asked the public to submit mobile and CCTV footage to assist inquiries.
