Man Who Stalked Influencer to Bali Sent to Hospital for Psychiatric Treatment

The court ordered compulsory hospital care to treat a diagnosed delusional disorder and to protect the victim from further harm.

Overview

  • Keating was sentenced on Monday to a restricted hospital order and an indefinite restraining order after his 2025 convictions for two stalking offences.
  • Prosecutors presented hundreds of emails and about 30 videos sent between June 2022 and October 2024 that grew obsessive, sexual and threatening toward influencer Alexandra Saper.
  • In January 2023 Keating flew to Bali where Saper lived, messages and witnesses placed him near her home, and police found a black rope and a cut tie in his luggage when he was arrested on return to the UK on 6 March 2023.
  • Court psychiatric evidence diagnosed Keating with a delusional disorder involving grandiose beliefs, and the judge ruled hospital detention was necessary because he was likely to refuse treatment in prison.
  • Saper’s victim impact statement described panic attacks, the loss of her home and business disruption, and the case highlights risks faced by public-facing people online and the limits of ignoring persistent harassment.
