Overview
- Unknown assailants forced entry into a Keirao Wangkhem Mamang Leikai home around 2:30 a.m. on Monday and shot 52-year-old Ngangkham Thambou dead while critically injuring his 53-year-old wife.
- Police recovered one empty 9 mm cartridge casing at the scene and have registered a case at Irilbung police station under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Arms Act as an investigation to find the attackers continues.
- The injured wife, Ngangkham Ongbi Keinatombi, was first treated at Shija Hospital and later referred to RIMS with neck wounds from a suspected sharp-edged weapon and is reported as critical but out of danger.
