- Kane Farragher, 24, of Birkenhead, is charged with causing death by dangerous driving, causing death while disqualified, and causing serious injury by dangerous driving.

- Police say a white BMW M135 failed to stop on the A184, was pursued, then travelled south on the A19’s northbound carriageway and struck a grey Volkswagen Sharan around 3am on March 1.
- A woman in her 20s who was a passenger in the BMW died at the scene, a male passenger remains in a life-threatening condition, and the Volkswagen driver suffered injuries not thought to be serious.
- Northumbria Police referred the case to the IOPC, and investigators are seeking dashcam or CCTV footage quoting reference NP-20260301-0122.
