Man Pleads Not Guilty in Sandringham Threat Case Involving Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor

Prosecutors plan for Andrew to testify by video at a July trial.

Overview

  • Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, who was walking his dogs near his Marsh Farm home, was allegedly confronted in Wolferton on Wednesday evening before police arrested 39-year-old Alex Jenkinson.
  • Norfolk Police said Jenkinson was charged with using threatening or abusive words or behaviour and with failing to provide a blood specimen in custody.
  • Appearing in court on Friday, Jenkinson denied threatening Andrew and another man but admitted the blood-specimen charge and was released on conditional bail.
  • Bail terms bar him from entering Norfolk or any royal site and from contacting Andrew, which restricts any approach to the Sandringham estate while the case proceeds.
  • The court listed a July 29 trial, and prosecutors said they intend for Andrew to give evidence by videolink, a development that has also renewed debate over his privately funded security since losing Met Police protection in 2019 and relocating to Marsh Farm this year.
