- Police said the attack occurred just after 5:20 a.m. in the 4400 block of West Augusta Boulevard on Chicago's Northwest Side.
- Two men traveling westbound in a red Dodge Charger were struck by gunfire, causing the vehicle to crash.
- The driver, 37, was shot in the back and was pronounced dead at Mt. Sinai Hospital.
- The passenger, 29, sustained multiple gunshot wounds to the head and remains in critical condition.
