Overview
- The shooting, which happened on 11 June 2025, left 30-year-old Jordan Rodney dead and another man in his 30s wounded at a wake in Claxton Grove, Hammersmith.
- Met detectives used traffic and CCTV footage to trace movements to the defendant and forensic officers found Joseph’s DNA on a sawn-off shotgun recovered near where he was later arrested.
- After fleeing the scene, the defendant crashed his car during a police pursuit in Isleworth, ran through gardens and was detained in a Tolson Road garden the next day.
- A jury at the Old Bailey convicted Jahmel Joseph of murder, attempted murder, possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life, dangerous driving and possessing a prohibited firearm on 13 May 2026.
- Sentencing on 18 June 2026 imposed life with a minimum 39-year term, the judge rejected the defence that psychosis excused the killing and the family spoke of lasting grief while the Met highlighted the role of CCTV and DNA in securing the conviction.
