Man in His 40s Killed in Targeted Langley Shooting

IHIT has taken command of the probe to lead a full scene examination, door-to-door canvassing, a search for dashcam footage.

Overview

  • The shooting, which occurred late Tuesday night in the 5400 block of Brydon Crescent, left a man in his 40s dead at the scene after first responders arrived following reports of gunfire.
  • The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team has taken over the case and says investigators believe the attack was targeted and confined to a single unit in a multi-dwelling building.
  • Officers are conducting an extended, fulsome scene examination and are canvassing neighbours for witnesses and surveillance, asking for dashcam footage from about 10 p.m. to midnight on May 26.
  • The victim’s name is being withheld while family notifications continue and investigators have urged anyone with information to contact the IHIT tip line or email ihitinfo@rcmp-grc.gc.ca.
  • Neighbors described a normally quiet street shaken by gunfire and the incident could prompt a sustained police presence and increased community concern as investigators pursue leads.
