Man Found Guilty of Manslaughter in Death of Norton Father
A Teesside Crown Court jury accepted prosecutors’ account that the victim was lured into an alley and struck, with sentencing to be scheduled.

- Declan Moor, 21, was found guilty of manslaughter on July 8 after a trial at Teesside Crown Court that followed a contested prosecution case.
- Prosecutors told jurors that on December 31, 2025 the 31-year-old victim, Aiden Matthews, was lured into a Norton back alley and punched, causing a fractured skull and a bleed on the brain.
- Matthews returned home after the attack and later died in hospital on January 3, 2026 after being found unconscious, testimony at trial said.
- Two other men, Max Cashman and Lee Bradshaw, previously pleaded guilty to manslaughter and all three defendants will be sentenced on dates to be fixed by the court.
- Cleveland Police said the verdict closed a complex investigation and may offer some closure for Matthews’s family as they continue to grieve and await formal sentencing.
