Man Found Guilty of Killing 15-Year-Old at Ladbroke Grove Festival

Police said extensive CCTV and a phone video were central to the case and the convicted man will be sentenced on July 3.

Overview

  • A jury at Woolwich Crown Court found 25-year-old Aderahman Boumzough guilty of the murder of 15-year-old Rene Graham and of attempted murder on Friday following a two-week trial.
  • The killing took place at a family music event in Emslie Horniman’s Pleasance Park in July 2024 when the gunman fired a single shot into the children’s play area and then chased a second man whose assailant’s gun jammed.
  • Investigators said the case relied on painstaking analysis of hundreds of hours of CCTV and a video recovered from Boumzough’s phone in which he appeared to rap about the firearm malfunction.
  • Police arrested Boumzough on September 2, 2025 and charged him the next day after building what they described as a compelling body of evidence that included forensic work and witness statements.
  • Rene’s family and local officers welcomed the verdict as a step toward closure and the conviction is likely to revive debate about safety at community events and the challenges police face when many bystanders do not come forward.
