Man Fatally Struck Crossing North Academy Near Vickers in Colorado Springs

Police say the driver stayed at the scene, cooperating with the investigation.

CSPD and the fire department responded around the early morning hours, with reports ranging from shortly after 6 a.m. to about 6:40 a.m.
Investigators say the man was crossing outside the Vickers Drive crosswalk when he was hit on northbound Academy Boulevard.
Traffic was restricted in both directions during the investigation, and authorities cleared the scene just before 9:30 a.m.
No charges had been announced at the time of reporting, and the El Paso County Coroner will release the victim’s identity.
