  • Law enforcement found the bodies of 47-year-old Jessica Folds and 44-year-old Daniel Robbins together in woods near County Road 86 in Lanett on June 10 after a passerby reported an abandoned pickup that was running.
  • The Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences determined Folds was strangled and that Robbins suffered a fatal heart attack while allegedly moving or disposing of her body.
  • Deputies at the scene noted the truck’s driver door open, the tailgate down and a visible drag path from the truck into the brush; Folds was found with her hands raised and Robbins curled in a fetal position.
  • Special agents from the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s State Bureau of Investigation are leading the death investigation with assistance from the Chambers County Sheriff’s Office and the FBI, and autopsies were performed by the state forensic lab.
  • Folds is survived by three adult sons, officials have not released a motive, investigators say the woods appear to be a dump site so the exact location of the killing remains unconfirmed and the inquiry is ongoing.
