- Lancashire Police charged 23-year-old Niall Reynolds after Monday's early-morning incident in which a VW Passat hit a 28-year-old on Condor Grove.
- The victim remains in hospital in a serious condition after suffering significant injuries.
- Officers said the car drove off, then was stopped on Waterloo Road a short time later, when two men were detained.
- Reynolds faces counts of attempted murder, drink-driving, driving without insurance or a licence, and two criminal damage offences, and he is due in court on Wednesday.
