Overview
- Police were called to Trent Valley (Nuneaton) station at 9.24pm on Friday, March 13 after reports a woman had been raped and part of Platform 2 was cordoned off.
- British Transport Police investigated the case and located 36-year-old Billy Ormiston in Plymouth city centre on Friday, June 5 before arresting him.
- Officers executed warrants at two Plymouth addresses on the night of June 5, and a woman arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender was later released on bail.
- Ormiston was charged with two counts of rape and one count of sexual assault and appeared at Plymouth Magistrates' Court on Monday, June 8 where he was remanded in custody.
- Specially trained BTP officers are supporting the victim as enquiries continue and the case now moves toward a preliminary hearing at Warwick Crown Court on July 13.
