Man Charged After Fatal M4 Crash in West London

Charges follow an arrest, prompting the Metropolitan Police to appeal for dashcam footage and witness information.

  • A collision between a black BMW 320i and a white Volkswagen Golf on the M4 westbound at Junction 4 in Hillingdon left two people from the Golf dead and a third injured after the crash on Sunday, June 1.
  • Mohammed Hagila, 63, died at the scene and Diljan Hagila, 62, was taken to hospital and died on June 6, according to police statements.
  • Police arrested 28-year-old Maninder Singh Brar on June 6 and charged him on June 7 with two counts of causing death by dangerous driving, two counts of causing death while uninsured, and failing to stop following a collision.
  • Officers say Brar also faces allegations linked to driving without insurance, dangerous driving, fraud and taking a vehicle, and specialist officers are supporting the victims’ family and the surviving passenger.
  • The Met asks anyone with information or dashcam footage to contact 101 quoting reference 01/7640380/26 or to report anonymously to Crimestoppers and says Brar will appear in custody at Uxbridge Magistrates’ Court on Monday.
