- Police detained an unidentified man in the province of Granada after locating the person who published personal data for many public servants, with the arrest and home search completed on Wednesday, May 27.
- The investigation is led by Juzgado de Instrucción Nº22 de Madrid and was opened after authorities detected a wide online diffusion that they said created an immediate risk to affected officials and institutions.
- Authorities say the posts targeted members of sensitive bodies including the National Cybersecurity Institute (Incibe), fiscal and prosecutorial offices, the National Police, the Guardia Civil, the Treasury and the Tax Agency.
- Officers seized computers and other tech devices during the residence search and specialists are conducting digital forensics to identify how the data was collected and whether other profiles or accomplices were involved.
- Officials warn that doxing can enable threats or extortion and urge monitoring of the ongoing probe as investigators work to prevent further publication and to dismantle the network behind the campaign.
