Overview
- A family argument escalated Thursday evening when a man in his late 30s allegedly cut his brother’s throat, then retreated and barricaded himself inside a home on Hornwood Drive.
- Patrol officers found the suspect outside with a knife, the brother was treated at the scene by Houston Fire Department paramedics and his injuries are not believed to be life threatening.
- The Patrol Support Team secured the scene and SWAT with the Hostage Negotiation Team spent hours trying to get the man to surrender before breaching a window to deploy a drone and a robotic dog inside the house.
- Authorities deployed CS gas, the suspect exited without injury and was taken into custody on charges including aggravated assault of a family member and family violence, and police recovered one knife.
