Man Arrested After Brutal Attack on Partner at San Juan Transient Hotel

  • A woman was violently assaulted by her boyfriend inside a room at the Samaná transient hotel after a jealousy dispute over old Facebook photos, suffering punches, being thrown to the floor and a threat with a bottle.
  • She managed to flee during a distraction, asked a passerby for help, and then encountered police on Pellegrini Street who took her statement.
  • Police mounted a search and intercepted 42-year-old Julio Andrés Ferreyra about two to three hours later near Avenida Ignacio de la Roza and detained him without reported resistance.
  • Prosecutor Cristian Gerarduzzi placed the case under the Flagrancia system and the matter is charged as "lesiones leves agravadas por el vínculo y por mediar violencia de género" for accelerated judicial handling.
