Overview
- Police were called just after 2:30am to Queen Street near Flinders Street following reports of a man armed with a machete.
- A woman in her 20s sustained serious upper-body injuries and was taken to The Alfred, while a man in his 20s suffered mid-body injuries and is stable at the Royal Melbourne Hospital.
- Officers arrested a man at the scene and are interviewing him as detectives taped off the area, collected evidence and urged witnesses to contact Crime Stoppers.
- Footage showed shoes, handbags and other belongings scattered across the street, and blood was seen on nearby stairs before being cleaned.
