- Race officials and NTT INDYCAR SERIES confirmed on Sunday that David Malukas was taken out of the Freedom 250 after he slammed his No. 12 Team Penske Chevrolet into the outside wall at Turn 7.
- Sting Ray Robb's No. 77 Juncos Hollinger Racing Chevrolet was collected in the same Lap 36 incident and both drivers were forced to retire from the race.
