Overview
- Runway 35L/17R at Milan Malpensa will be shut from March 16 to May 9 for full resurfacing, taxiway renewal and technology replacements.
- Malpensa will operate on its second runway, with some short‑haul Schengen services moved to Linate using narrow‑body aircraft.
- Intercontinental routes remain at Malpensa, as Linate can only accommodate single‑aisle flights to Schengen destinations.
- Linate’s hourly cap of 18 movements is temporarily raised by up to eight for eligible flights, though actual use so far is about two extra in select slots.
- Works will run nonstop seven days a week, scheduled right after the Olympic and Paralympic period under a plan coordinated by ENAC, SEA, ENAV and Assoclearance.
