Maine Man Arrested After Truck Crashes Into Bridgewater Rest Stop Lobby

Investigators cite signs of impairment after linking the truck to a second crash.

Overview

  • Massachusetts State Police say a Ford F-350 with Maine plates struck the glass entry of a Route 24 Bridgewater rest area around 4 a.m., damaging the Dunkin' Donuts and Burger King doors.
  • A Burger King employee, Denise Agnello, reported the driver reversed, did donuts in the lot, and left as a license plate fell off.
  • Troopers issued a BOLO for a dark-blue 2016 Ford F-350 following the rest-area collision.
  • About an hour later, the same truck was involved in a single-vehicle crash on Forge Road in Westport, where troopers observed signs of impairment.
  • Police identified the driver as Andrew Beaulieu, 30, of Carthage, Maine, and charged him with operating under the influence of drugs, negligent operation, and other offenses; no injuries have been confirmed as the investigation continues.
