Overview
- Mahindra unveiled the BE 6 Sporteq series and said deliveries will begin on 26 August 2026 with prices from ₹11.45 lakh under the Battery‑as‑a‑Service option up to ₹26.95 lakh for top variants.
- The Sporteq range is built around Mahindra’s MAIA software and six TEQ suites that include a Gemini-based conversational assistant, in-car entertainment with Dolby support, and personalization tools.
- A new 70kWh battery with an ARAI-claimed range of 651 km pairs with a 241 hp rear motor and a claimed DC fast-charge time from 20–80 percent in about 20 minutes.
- Mahindra fitted a coast-to-coast triple 12.3‑inch screen cockpit on most Sporteq trims while the Formula E Freedom edition keeps a two-screen sporty layout and an Acceleration Boost that Mahindra says enables 0–100 km/h in 6.44 seconds.
- The company will roll Sporteq software to existing BE 6, XEV 9e and XEV 9S owners via over-the-air updates from January 2027, a move that could shift buyer decisions toward user experience, change upfront affordability through BaaS, and affect resale and ownership costs.
