Overview
- The State Election Commission said the alliance won 552 of 731 Zilla Parishad seats, with the BJP at 225, the NCP at 165 and the Shiv Sena at 162.
- In Panchayat Samitis, the poll body reported the BJP won 459 of 1,462 seats, followed by 306 for the NCP and 302 for the Shiv Sena, giving the alliance well over 1,000 seats.
- The NCP retained Pune Zilla Parishad with 51 of 73 seats, Shiv Sena won Raigad and Ratnagiri, the BJP took a majority in Sindhudurg and emerged the single largest party in Satara, Solapur, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Parbhani, Dharashiv and Latur.
- The contest drew a 68.28% turnout across 12 districts for 12 Zilla Parishads and 125 Panchayat Samitis, according to the commission.
- Some races were decided by razor-thin margins, including a Dhoki Panchayat Samiti seat in Dharashiv won by a Shiv Sena (UBT) candidate by one vote.
