Overview
- The state announced on Tuesday that it will establish 40 CET Cell Student Facilitation Centres covering all 36 districts, with Mumbai to get three centres and Pune and Nagpur two each.
- Work on 26 centres is complete, six are in final stages and eight will be activated soon, and the government said services will begin from June 10.
- Each centre will offer hands-on help with CET and CAP applications, fee payments, document and photo uploads, hall-ticket problems and technical or payment grievances.
- Centres will coordinate directly with district colleges, local CET examination centres and the Maharashtra State CET Cell to obtain information for pending complaints and escalate issues when needed.
- The move aims to ease access for students in rural and remote areas by providing counselling on course choice, scholarships, internships and employment while reducing the need to travel to major cities for admission work; CET is the state exam that feeds the Centralised Admission Process for undergraduate professional courses.
