Maharashtra Ramps Up Final Prep for Guru Tegh Bahadur 350th Shaheedi Samagam in Nanded

Overview

  • The Jan 24–25 commemoration will be held at the 52-acre Public Works Department ground in the Asarjan area of Nanded, with separate parking in place.
  • Two tent cities have been set up near the venue, including one with capacity for about 14,000 devotees, with additional lodging arranged in marriage halls and schools and nodal officers appointed.
  • A grand langar is planned for nearly 10 lakh devotees as departments coordinate accommodation, food, transport, healthcare and security.
  • Minister of State Madhuri Misal directed wide publicity through media, school competitions, cinema screenings of devotional songs and hoardings, alongside provisions for drinking water, clean toilets and assisted transport for women, seniors and persons with disabilities.
  • Districts are mobilising attendees through appeals to multiple communities, information tableaux, village announcements and school contests, with requests to railway divisions for special trains and lead-up events such as the Warkari sammelan at Narsi Namdev in Hingoli.
