Overview
- The Maharashtra government, which issued the order Friday, directed every workplace with 10 or more employees to set up an Internal Complaints Committee and register it on the Centre’s She-Box portal.
- Non-compliance can draw a penalty of up to Rs 50,000, with repeat breaches risking doubled fines or cancellation of the establishment’s licence.
- Officials also warned that sexual harassment, stalking, secret filming, and acts that insult the dignity of women would trigger criminal charges under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
