Maharashtra Consolidates Post‑Class 10 Scholarships into MahaScholarship on MahaDBT 2.0

The state says the single portal will cut paperwork, halve required fields and speed Aadhaar-linked payouts before the 2026–27 academic year.

Overview

  • A government resolution announced on Monday establishes MahaScholarship on the upgraded MahaDBT 2.0 as the single system for all post-Class 10 scholarships from the 2026–27 academic year.
  • The platform reduces application fields from more than 130 to about 65 and will auto-fetch verified data from Aadhaar, the CET Cell and other government databases to avoid repeated entry.
  • Verification has been trimmed from four scrutiny levels to two, and successful awards will be disbursed by direct transfer to Aadhaar-linked bank accounts with online status tracking.
  • Renewals will be pre-filled so students need only update changed details each year, and income certificates submitted in the first year will remain valid for the full course for income-based schemes.
  • Officials say this is an administrative and technical overhaul developed by MahaIT that keeps existing eligibility rules and benefit amounts unchanged while detailed user guidelines will appear on the portal before rollout.
