Magnitude 5.6 Earthquake Near Khuzdar Rattles Balochistan, Felt Across Sindh

  • Pakistan’s meteorological agency measured a magnitude 5.6 event with an epicentre roughly 86 km northeast of Khuzdar.
  • A smaller 3.8 tremor was recorded earlier the same morning near Khuzdar before the stronger quake.
  • Shaking was reported across parts of Sindh and Balochistan, including Sukkur, Jacobabad, Jhal Magsi, Dadu, Naseerabad and nearby areas.
  • The United States Geological Survey reported the quake at magnitude 5.5 at a depth of about 10 km roughly 79 km from Khuzdar.
