Overview
- The full 5.4–5.47 km hybrid circuit with 22 turns was asphalted and publicly presented on Tuesday, June 16, in a ceremony attended by regional leaders, F1 officials and driver-ambassador Carlos Sainz.
- Organizers highlighted the 550 m semicircular turn called La Monumental, described as having a 24% banking and promoted as the circuit’s signature feature, which has drawn technical questions from some drivers.
- Work remains on safety fences, grandstands, pit and support facilities and organisers say those installations will be finished in the roughly three months before the scheduled race weekend of September 11–13.
- The Community of Madrid and the Chamber of Commerce project an annual economic impact of about €450 million, foresee 8,200 direct and indirect jobs and report more than 90,000 tickets sold toward an expected 120,000 visitors.
- Authorities framed Madring as a ten-season commitment through 2035 to raise Madrid’s global sporting profile, but earlier contractor delays, weather setbacks and pending final F1 safety approvals have left some public and technical scrutiny.
