- Madrid City Hall, which presented the final plan Tuesday, awarded a 75-year concession to Barsento S.L.U. to finance, build and operate the site.
- The project will add a covered arena for more than 20,000 people, a campus for about 2,300 students, and a sports center with indoor and outdoor pools for up to 9,000 users.
- Works are budgeted at more than €360 million, and the city expects to collect over €141 million in concession payments across the term.
- Officials expect construction to start soon and continue until late 2030, after a revised plan removed a hotel use that regional judges struck down in December.
- The concessionaire has pledged community programs that include sports activities for children, youth and seniors, plus scholarships to help vulnerable students access training.
