Madhya Pradesh Unveils Major Build-Out and Control Systems for Simhastha‑2028

The state is mobilising roads, ghats, bridges, a digital command centre to prevent the congestion and safety failures of 2016.

Officials held a wide training workshop in Ujjain on Saturday, June 27, 2026, to coordinate departments and launch the next phase of Simhastha‑2028 planning.
The government announced more than ₹25,000 crore in projects that include 29 km of new ghats (₹778 crore), upgrades to 7.8 km of existing ghats (₹120 crore), and 22 new or widened bridges (₹853.46 crore).
A Central Digital Command Centre priced at about ₹139 crore will link city and fair-area CCTV to AI-based crowd monitoring for real‑time traffic, crowd and emergency response.
Officials reported large attendance projections but gave conflicting figures — articles cite both about 40 crore and about 4 crore expected visitors — leaving the scale planners must prepare for unclear.
