Overview
- The state launched Safe Click 2.0 on Wednesday, June 24, as a concentrated 15-day campaign running to July 8 across all 10 divisions and 55 districts.
- Officials say the drive will reach more than 50,000 villages using schools, banks, markets, panchayats, religious sites and flagged-off mobile awareness chariots to deliver daily themed sessions.
- Police have focused messaging on common scams such as fake investment schemes, loan-app frauds, phishing links, fake profiles and digital arrest scams and urge people not to share OTPs, CVVs, passwords or click unverified links, QR codes or APK files.
- Operational supports highlighted by authorities include an e-Zero FIR option for cyber frauds up to Rs 1 lakh and the national cyber helpline 1930, building on a 2025 intervention that froze Rs 135 crore linked to frauds and helped return funds to victims.
- Officials say the campaign aims to change behavior among digitally inexperienced rural users and urban residents, and success will depend on sustained local policing, follow-up victim support and wider digital literacy beyond the 15-day push.
