Overview
- Vincent Lime, 36, pleaded guilty at Swindon Magistrates' Court on January 5 and was banned from driving for 30 months, ordered to complete 250 hours of unpaid work, and told to pay £85 in costs and a £114 surcharge.
- Officers arrested him at about 3pm on December 6 after multiple 999 calls reported a Ford Fiesta swerving on the eastbound M4 near junctions 14 and 15.
- Police said he was seen drifting across lanes, nearly colliding with other vehicles and changing speed before being stopped near Membury Services.
- A roadside breath test succeeded only on the eighth attempt and recorded 148mg alcohol per 100ml of breath, with a further 143mg reading in custody.
- He held only a provisional licence, leading to a charge of driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence and the seizure of his vehicle under Operation Limit.
